Mounting Tools

Direct to Wall

Supplies

  • Two 3″ lag screws
  • Four 2″ lag screws
  • Silicone

Process

  • Locate and mark the stud
  • Level footplate and mark center holes
  • Pre-drill center holes with 7/32″ drill bit
  • Remove drill bit, attach 1/2″ nut setter
  • Fill two holes with silicone
  • Apply silicone around four corner holes on the bottom of the footplate
  • Drive 3″ lags through center holes (99% in)
  • Level the mast
  • Tighten lags with 1/2″ socket
  • Drive 2″ lags through four corner holes (99% in)
  • Tighten corner lags with 1/2″ socket
  • Level mast and tighten hardware with 7/16″ wrench
  • Place dish on mast

Direct to Overhang

Supplies

  • Two 3″ lag screws
  • Four 2″ lag screws
  • Pitch patch

Process

  • Locate and mark the rafter over a non-living space
  • Level the footplate and mark the center holes
  • Pre-drill center holes with 7/32″ drill bit
  • Remove drill bit, attach 1/2″ nut setter
  • Fill two holes with pitch patch
  • Apply pitch patch on the four corner holes on the bottom of the footplate
  • Drive 3″ lags through center holes (99% in)
  • Level the mast
  • Tighten lags with 1/2″ socket
  • Drive 2″ lags through four corner holes (99% in)
  • Tighten corner lags with 1/2″ socket
  • Level mast and tighten hardware with 7/16″ wrench
  • Place dish on mast

Fascia (on Gable)

Supplies

  • Five/six 3″ lag screws
  • Silicone

Assembly Process

  • Align footplate with fascia plate (pointed up)
  • Use supplied hardware to attach footplate
  • Remove pivot bolt from footplate

Installation Process

  • Locate and mark the rafter
  • Level footplate and mark the center hole
  • Pre-drill center hole with 7/32″ drill bit
  • Remove drill bit, attach 1/2″ nut setter
  • Fill hole with silicone
  • Drive 3″ lag through center hole (99% in)
  • Remove nut setter, attach 7/32″ drill bit
  • Re-attach pivot bolt with 7/16″ wrench
  • Level the mast
  • Mark and pre-drill upper four holes
  • Remove drill bit, attach 1/2″ nut setter
  • Fill holes with silicone
  • Drive 3″ lags through upper four holes (99% in)
  • Tighten lags with 1/2″ socket
  • Level mast and tighten hardware with 7/16″ wrench
  • Place dish on mast

Fascia (on Hip)

Supplies

  • Two/three 3″ lag screws
  • Two 2″ lag screws
  • Silicone

Assembly Process

  • Align footplate with fascia plate (point down)
  • Use supplied hardware to attach footplate
  • Remove pivot bolt from footplate

Installation Process

  • Locate and mark the rafter
  • Level footplate and mark the center hole
  • Pre-drill center hole with 7/32″ drill bit
  • Remove drill bit, attach 1/2″ nut setter
  • Fill hole with silicone
  • Apply silicone around upper corner holes on bottom of fascia plate
  • Drive 3″ lag through center hole (99% in)
  • Re-attach pivot bolt with 7/16″ wrench
  • Level the mast
  • Drive 2″ lags through upper corner holes (99% in)
  • Remove nut setter, attach 7/32″ drill bit
  • Pre-drill remaining center holes
  • Remove drill bit, attach 1/2″ nut setter
  • Fill holes with silicone
  • Drive 3″ lag through center holes (99% in)
  • Tighten lags with 1/2″ socket
  • Level mast and tighten hardware with 7/16″ wrench
  • Place dish on mast

Angled Fascia

Supplies

  • Two 3″ lag screws
  • Four 2″ lag screws
  • Silicone

Assembly Process

  • Disassemble mast from footplate using the 13mm and 7/16″ wrenches
  • Attach mast to angled fascia mount using the hardware removed from the footplate.
    • Note: The angled fascia mount must be attached to the mast with the elongated slot on the bottom and two smaller holes on top
  • Tighten hardware

Installation Process

  • Find and mark the rafter
  • Level the mount and mark top right corner hole
  • Apply silicone around four corner holes on the bottom of the mount
  • Drive 2″ lag through top right hole (99% in)
  • Level the mast
  • Drive 2″ lags through corner holes (99% in)
  • Tighten lags with 1/2″ socket
  • Remove pivot bolt, let mast hang
  • Pre-drill center holes with 7’32” drill bit
  • Remove drill bit, attach 1/2″ nut setter
  • Fill hole with silicone
  • Drive 3″ lags through center holes (99% in)
  • Tighten lags with 1/2″ socket
  • Re-attach pivot bolt with 7/16″ wrench
  • Level mast and tighten hardware with 7/16″ wrench
  • Place dish on mast

Under Eave

Supplies

  • Four 2″ lag screws
  • Silicone

Process

  • Find the exposed rafter
  • Mark the upper corner hole
  • Pre-drill the marked hole with 7/32″ drill bit
  • Remove drill bit, attach 1/2″ nut setter
  • Fill hole with silicone
  • Drive 2″ lag (99% in)
  • Remove nut setter, attach 7/32″ drill bit
  • Level the mast
  • Mark the remaining three holes
  • Pre-drill the remaining three holes
  • Remove drill bit, attach 1/2″ nut setter
  • Fill holes with silicone
  • Drive remaining 2″ lags (99% in)
  • Tighten lags with 1/2″ socket
  • Place dish on mast

Direct to Brick

Supplies

  • Four 2″ lag screws
  • Four lag shields
  • 1/4″ masonry bit
  • 1/2″ masonry bit
  • Silicone

Process

  • Select Mounting Location
    • Not in the Mortar
    • Not on the edge of house
    • One lag per brick
  • Place footplate on pre selected mounting area and mark one top corner hole
  • Pre drill corner hole 2 inches deep using ¼ inch masonry bit
    • Pro Tip: Start with Hammer drill in drill mode to create divot in brick before switching to hammer mode, this will prevent the bit from walking
    • Pro Tip: Measure out 2 inches on masonry bits and wrap with electrical tape, this will ensure that the hole is exactly 2 inches deep.
  • Drill into the pre-drilled hole 2 inches deep using ½ inch masonry bit
    • Pro Tip: clean out the pre-drilled hole with ½” masonry bit to ensure lag shield fits.
  • Insert lag shield flush with brick
  • Insert silicone
  • Attach mast with 2” lag (99% in)
  • Level the Mast
  • Pre-drill remaining 3 holes through the footplate 2 inches deep
    • Pro Tip: Tighten 2” lag with ½” wrench if footplate will not stay in place while pre-drilling
    • Pro Tip: Keep the level on the mast while pre-drilling to ensure mast stays level
  • Rotate mast out of the way and use ½ inch bit to drill the three holes 2 inches deep
  • Insert remaining lag shields and silicone
  • Rotate mast back to upright position and drive remaining 2” lags (99% in)
  • Tighten all four lag bolts with ½ inch socket (snug plus a quarter turn)
  • Level the mast and tighten hardware with 7/16” wrench
  • Place Dish on mast.
